  1. Did you know that many of the art galleries have artist receptions on Fridays and Saturdays during the Carmel Art Festival?

  2. I'll kick off an artist post! Pleased to be coming from the great little state of Rhode Island to participate this year (my first). I painted a little in Carmel about 7 years ago, but looking forward to the immersion of the festival. Coming in a couple days early to get the lay of the land. Looking forward to meeting the other participants and making some new artistic acquaintances. I can be contacted anytime through my website at www.jonathanmcphillips.com.

  3. Artists information packet is now posted on the Carmel Art Festival website - see www.carmelartfestival.org

It's only 3 weeks away now and we are getting to the deadline for printing the program. If any art galleries in Carmel want to submit their event information, hurry and email it to us at carmelartfest@gmail.com

See you all soon May 12 to 15, 2011

  4. I had a wonderful time at the festival this weekend. My husband and I, along with our dog excitedly watched for paintings to be hung in the display area. Some took our breath away. We went to several painting demos. I really appreciated the ones held at the Carmel Art Association. Those were the most comfortable and informative. I had hoped to watch at least one of the artists painting plein aire, however we were unable to find them. We walked all over Carmel-by-the-Sea, including the gardens at the La Playa but could not find anyone painting.
Thank you all for the work you do. We look forward to attending again.
